There is an oil carrier in Based Defoamer Oil. With the exception of silicone oil, the oil may be mineral oil, vegetable oil, white oil, or any other oil that is insoluble in the foaming medium. To improve performance, an oil-based defoamer also includes wax and/or hydrophobic silica. Ethylene bis stearamide (EBS), paraffin waxes, ester waxes, and fatty alcohol waxes are examples of common waxes. To enhance emulsification and spreading in the foamy medium, these products may additionally contain surfactants.
